How do I charge an i-MiEV?
The i-MiEV can be charged using three different methods. The primary
method recommended is by using what is commonly referred to as a Level
2, 240 volt EVSE (which stands for Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment)
residential charging dock. Before purchasing your 240 volt EVSE we
strongly recommend that you complete an inspection of your home electric
system. Your certified Mitsubishi dealer will be able to guide you
through this process, and direct you to our inspection and installation
experts.
The second method of charging is through a Level 1, 120 volt portable charging cable. Its use requires a dedicated 15 amp circuit.
The third method is the DC (Direct Current) quick charge public
charging station that takes advantage of i-MiEV's standard CHAdeMO
connector port.
How long does it take to charge an i-MiEV?
Method: Level 2, AC 240 V (recommended) 7 hours
Method: Level 1, AC 120 V 22.5 hours

We anticipate most owners will charge their cars during overnight hours.
