ABOUT RALLYING AND THE CANADIAN ASSOCIATION OF RALLYSPORT:
********************************************************** Performance Rallying is considered by many as the most extreme form of
automobile motorsport and it's often described simply as "real cars, real
roads, real fast." This all-season motorsport sees drivers and their co-drivers
taking modified street-legal cars to the absolute limit as they achieve
blistering speeds over challenging closed-road courses that typically cover
more than 170 kilometers of gravel, dirt or snow-covered roads. Fans can
get up close to the cars in the service areas and catch all of the action from
specially designated spectator points located at the best spots on the route
with competitors often reaching speeds of well over 160 kph.
The Canadian Association of Rallysport (CARS) is the official sanctioning body
for rallying in Canada and the premier rally series, the Canadian Rally
Championship (CRC), comprising of six events across the country, spanning from
the shores of the Atlantic Ocean in New Richmond, Quebec to the mountains of
Merritt, BC.
